Disney's classic tale "Aladdin" was first adapted in 1962 with Donald Duck in the film Donald's Cave and Aladdin. This story mixed elements from Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves and the original tale. When releasing the 1992 version, Disney made some significant changes. The villain was no longer a sorcerer, but the sultan's vizier, Jafar, modeled on the historical figure of Jafar ben Yahya. Also, the princess's name was changed from Badroulbadour to the more memorable Jasmine. A different version of Aladdin can also be found in the manga and anime Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic, where he is the protagonist, alongside Ali Baba. This version merges elements from several Arabian Nights stories, creating an entirely new universe.
